Blood (a book ive been working on since the 7th grade (this is only the beginning))

I jolted awake with a pounding headache. My alarm was blaring in my ear and Ena was still fast asleep in the bed next to mine. I stood up and slammed my fist down on the screaming alarm to shut it up. I was always irritable in the morning, mostly because sleep was the only thing that saved me from my constant headaches.
I pulled back the current on the only window in our bedroom and groaned. It was raining, and the sky was dark and smeared with clouds.
Rain is quite possibly the worst thing that could happen in Amarillo, Texas. The rain floods the streets so quickly it was almost like we were in the middle of a hurricane without all the wind. “Damn it.” I said to myself and shook my head at the terrible weather.
“Ena!” I screamed. She jumped a little but not enough to wake herself up. God, she is a heavy sleeper! I thought. I sighed and kicked her bed. That definitely got her. She turned and gave me an angry look. I responded with a sly smile and one more kick to her bed. “It’s raining. Get up.”
“That’s just great!” she screamed as she smacked her hands down on the bed. “Oh, don’t be such a baby.” I joked.
“I wanted to wear those new boots my mom bought for me.” She complained. I laughed at her and slumped into the bathroom.  I took a long shower, letting the hot water sooth my headache ever so slightly.
It was going to be a long day, I could tell. Ena was working just as slow as I was to get ready for school. We weren’t exactly excited for another boring day in military school.
The rules were strict and the teachers were monotone enough to make even the smartest people drool on themselves in class.
After pulling on my blue and grey uniform I looked into the bathroom mirror. My short black hair fell perfectly into place over the one scar I earned as a trophy from surgery. It started at the back of my neck and ended at my left  eyebrow.

Part of Part one of my short story ^_^

I don’t really remember how it happened. I just knew the basic cause. A freight train loaded with a vaccine from some foreign country, a vaccine that was praised for curing leukemia, a modern marvel of medicine. People even called it a gift from God.
Some gift.
This gift killed my brother; or rather it changed him, and millions of other people. It even went beyond leukemia and infected others with the side effects. This vaccine ended everything. One shot of this vaccine and within a week you were some kind of zombie. You were walking bone, rotting flesh.  And the worst part was that there was no cure and no immunities. There was no way past it; if you were bitten you were done for.

The Wonderful Adventures of Penelope Rainbow Dash :Part 2: Candyland

Penelope Rainbow Dash was so excited that she flew all the way around Unicornland the Land of the Unicorns and landed right back in front of Mr. Handsome Unicorn.
They promptly left for Candyland and passed Charlie the Unicorn, silently sleeping in the Magical Forest of Wonders.
"Can Charlie come?" Asked Penelope Rainbow Dash.
"I dont think he wants to."
When they got to Candyland they ate so much candy that they couldn't make the journey home.
